Epilepsy is categorized as a neurological condition in which the individual experiences seizures not caused by a known medical condition. (1) 65 million people worldwide are said to have epilepsy and 1 in 26 people in the United States will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. (2) In the U.S. alone, 300,000 of those affected are under the age of 15. (3)
With the obvious human and economic toll this condition places on families and society, an intervention that could naturally reduce the frequency of seizures or potentially remove them completely in some cases should be of great importance.
Current evidence available indicates that chiropractic care aimed at correcting vertebral subluxation in individuals diagnosed with epilepsy can have such a profound effect and deserves deeper investigation by those suffering with the condition, policy makers and the research community in general. However, most people simply don’t know that this is a potential solution.
Dr. Tullius has a particular interest in this area of practice and research because of the first-hand clinical experience he has witnessed.
From seeing the many clinical cases he has personally been involved with in which reduction in frequency to the complete termination of seizure activity has occurred, Dr. Tullius believes that all individuals affected by epilepsy deserve to know more about how vertebral subluxation impacts the quality of our lives.
